How to create a QR code

  1. 1Enter a URL or any other text.
  2. 2Pick an error-correction level. Higher levels remain readable if the code is partly obscured, and they fit less text.
  3. 3Download a PNG for screens and print, or an SVG if you need to scale it.

Questions

Does a coloured QR code still scan?

It usually does when the foreground is much darker than the background and the quiet margin is left intact. Low contrast and very pale colours are the usual reason a code fails.

Is there a length limit?

Yes. QR codes have a fixed capacity that depends on the error-correction level. If the text is too long, the tool reports that instead of drawing a broken code.
