How to convert a PDF to Excel
- 1Choose a PDF whose table is real text, not a scan.
- 2Convert. Words on the same line are grouped into columns.
- 3Open the spreadsheet and move any cells that landed in the wrong column.
Questions
Will merged cells and borders be kept?
No. The sheet contains the words. Lines, shading and merged cells are not copied.
What if the PDF is a scan?
A scan has no text layer. Use PDF OCR first, then paste the text, or export the page as an image.
