How to compress a PDF

Why does the smaller mode look different?
That mode draws each page onto a canvas and saves it as a JPEG inside a new PDF. Text can no longer be selected or searched, and fine detail depends on the preset you pick.
Is there a page limit?
Image compression is limited to 40 pages so the tab does not run out of memory. Split a longer document first, then compress the parts.
